The Shoes That Fit in the Morning Shouldn’t Squeeze by Afternoon
Swelling builds as the hours pass. A pair that felt acceptable after breakfast becomes tight when you are running errands, visiting friends, or spending time with family.
Then simple parts of the day start taking more effort — getting your shoes on, taking them off, and staying on your feet without thinking about pressure across the toes and sides.
If you live with edema, neuropathy, diabetes, arthritis, or general swelling, fixed shoes ask your feet to adapt to them. Wide Comfort Shoes do the opposite.
The adjustable Velcro straps adjust to the shape of your feet throughout the day, even with swelling. Loosen them when your feet need room. Tighten them when you want a secure fit.
That gives you footwear designed around the way your feet change — not footwear that stays fixed while your feet do all the adjusting.
How the Adjustable Fit Works
Your feet change throughout the day
Swelling builds as the hours pass. The foot you dressed in the morning is not the foot you are standing on by late afternoon.
Regular shoes stay fixed
A laced or slip-on shoe holds one shape. As the foot expands, that fixed shape turns into pressure across the toes and sides.
The straps adapt to your foot
Loosen or tighten the Velcro straps in seconds and the shoe adjusts to the shape of your feet, even with swelling.
Fixed shoes create pressure. Adjustable straps give your feet room.
After 14 months of testing, Wide Comfort Shoes were built around one practical change: adjustable Velcro straps that loosen or tighten as your feet swell.
No laces. No narrow opening. Just room when you need it and a secure fit when you want it.
The Velcro design makes the shoes easy to slip on and off with one hand—no struggling to force a swollen foot into place.
Or choose 2 pairs for just $59.50 each ($119 total). You can pick a different color and size for each pair.

“He lost mobility in his left hand, and trying to pry his feet into normal shoes was an exhausting 15-minute battle for both of us. These fold completely open. He slides his foot right in and fastens the strap himself with one hand. They gave him his independence back.”

Will These Fit Your Feet?
“My feet are normal and never swell.”
(B–D / Standard)
Then you probably don’t need us. A regular shoe is cheaper, and we’d rather be honest with you. But if they fit at 8am and hurt by 3pm, keep reading.
“They fit in the morning, but squeeze by afternoon.”
(E–4E / Wide, Extra Wide)
This is our sweet spot. The top folds completely flat so you never have to pry your foot in, and the strap adjusts as your feet change size throughout the day.
“Nothing fits. Even 6Es feel tight.”
(6E+, Wraps, Bandaging, AFO Braces)
Because there’s no fixed tongue or stiff collar, the shoe opens wide enough for wrapped feet and braces. If you’re on the edge between sizes, order one size up so you have full strap coverage over your instep.
Get Back to the Moments Your Feet Have Been Making Harder
Wide Comfort Shoes give you an easier way to move through the day:
Spend time with grandchildren without planning every step
Run errands and manage daily tasks independently
Meet friends for walks, shopping, or lunch
Wear normal-looking shoes instead of oversized slippers
Say yes to plans without worrying about whether your shoes will fit
If you’re shopping for a parent, partner, or loved one with difficult-to-fit feet, the no-lace design and adjustable straps make daily footwear simpler.

“My Occupational Therapist wants to recommend these to her other patients.”
“I suffer from lymphedema, and my feet and legs swell to the point where I have to go back into gauze and tape. These shoes fold wide open, slide on easily over the bandages, and my OT was so impressed she asked where I got them so she could tell her other patients. You can't go wrong.”
Gina Burton, 68, Iowa
Lymphedema & Wraps
“Felt a little roomy in the morning, but a lifesaver by 3 PM.”
“I was skeptical because my instep swells up like a balloon by late afternoon. When I first put them on at breakfast, they felt slightly loose, but once the afternoon swelling set in, the adjustable strap gave my feet the exact room they needed without pinching. If you are between sizes, stick with your normal size.”

4E Width / Afternoon Edema
“Better than Fitville. Actually opens all the way down.”
“I bought a similar pair from Fitville a few months ago, but the bottom of the tongue was sewn tight and I couldn't get my swollen foot in without help. Wide Comfort Shoes fold open all the way to the toe bed. The color is plain, but for everyday comfort and zero prying, nothing else has worked.”

A note on swelling and footwear
Swelling in the feet and lower legs becomes more common with age: around 1 in 5 people over 50 are likely to experience edema, and the rate is roughly three times higher among people aged 80 and over.
Podiatrist visits and custom orthotics can be expensive, which is why many people simply put up with shoes that no longer fit. Properly fitting footwear is a practical first step — it supports comfortable movement, balance, circulation, and day-to-day foot health.
Wide Comfort Shoes are footwear, not a medical treatment. If you have a diagnosed foot or circulation condition, keep following the advice of your own clinician.
